So let me introduce myself. My name is Jenessa Marie Roberts. (that's where I conjured up the idea for J. Marie) I was born in Sacramento CA. but then moved to my hometown, Logan UT. when I was about three years old. And I am still here. It feels a little small sometimes, but it's home. I have a mom and a dad (no kidding right?) and am the eldest of two younger sisters. Serena and Ashley. They are both married and both have kids. In fact, we all have boys. No one has had a girl yet and me and Serena are done, so I guess that is up to you Ash! Good luck! I have one little boy that is going to turn 5 on July 21st. His name is Taylor James Roberts, and he is the most special little boy ever. I know that I am bias, but what parent isn't? Anyways he is a treat and I will defiantly be posting things about him on a regular basis. Then I have a wonderful man in my life named Darrick Riggs. He is my soul mate and I don't know how I would make it through the day without his love and support. .... wow, I am glad I can say that. We have been together for 2 and 1/2 years. He has a daughter that is named Whitley. She is going to be 13 on July 29th. (yippee!... Teenage years. Here they come!... oh dear) She is the sweetest thing ever though. Although we aren't married and I didn't carry her in my belly she still feels like my own. It is nice when she is around because I can dilute some of the testosterone here. She is my little friend and when I am around her I forget that I am 28 and I can just be a young girl again. It is so fun!
So now for what I do.... Well where do I begin? So, by the title of my blog you can see that I do hair. That is partly true.... Well it is all true when it comes to the fact that I LOVE doing hair. I am over half way done with cosmetology school but I am taking a little break for a lot of complicated reasons, but in a nut shell, I am transferring school and in order to do that I need some extra money that I don't have so I am taking a break to work to earn that money. So in the mean time I do hair at my home for friends, family and referrals. I cut, color and style hair. I use the color line Redken and I love it! When I graduate school, I plan on working in a trendy salon. Also right now I have a booth set up at the local Gardener's Market here in Logan called Little Chickpea's Braiding. So basically whoever wants to get their hair braided with ribbons and flowers. I am just starting that so if you live around here, come swing by! I will be posting pictures of the different braids and hair styles, so check them out and tell me what you think.
